The First Family is making the most of it in Ireland.

While President Obama hung out at the G8 summit in Northern Ireland, Michelle Obama on Monday took Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, to Dublin for a presentation at Trinity College about the First Children's genealogy.

The Obama girls are descended from Irish immigrants through their dad's maternal relatives in Kansas. Their father's great-great-great grandfather was a shoemaker in Moneygall, a village between Dublin and Limerick.

London's Daily Mail said the girls were "less than enthralled" during the visit, which included a peek at the Book of Kells, a famous, 1,200-year-old illuminated manuscript containing the four Gospels of the New Testament.

Kim Kardashian is happy!

Kim Kardashian and P.R. accessory Kanye West have been dormant, mediawise, since she reportedly delivered a girl Saturday, about a month earlier than expected. Kardashians, by their nature, hate media vacuums, so Kim's mum, Kris Jenner, has stepped in. Kim is "extremely happy and thrilled for the new baby," Kris K tells E! "I can not even begin 2describe the miracle that is now apart of our family," she tweeted later. "More info will come when the time is right!" Can't wait.

John Galliano on addiction

Fashion designer John Galliano still doesn't remember the anti-Semitic tirade that got him fired from French fashion house Christian Dior two years ago.

That's what the 52-year-old sartorial artist insists in a chat with Ingrid Sischy in Vanity Fair, his first interview since he kicked off a scandal after praising Adolf Hitler in a frenzied monologue at a Paris cafe. "I was going to end up in a mental asylum or six feet under," he said of a six-year orgy of booze and drugs that preceded the episode.

"It's funny - when this all first happened I was like, I can't be a racist. I can't be. I grew up in South London, in a melting pot," Galliano says.

Shocking Nigella Lawson pics

London police are investigating photos in the tabloid Sunday People that show art collector Charles Saatchi apparently choking his wife, culinary goddess Nigella Lawson. The pics captured an argument at a restaurant June 9. Police said Monday they'll investigate even though Lawson, 53, has not lodged a criminal complaint. Her rep has declined comment. Saatchi, 70, told London's Evening Standard the pics show a "playful tiff" about their kids: "I held Nigella's neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasize my point."

Kristen Wiig to turn 40

On Aug. 22, Kristen Wiig will hit that dread age that disqualifies beauties from getting any more good Hollywood jobs: 40. Her plans? "I'm working on that day," Wiig tells Access Hollywood. "But I wanna do something. I don't know exactly what - I'm not going to, like, go skydiving or anything!" Need ideas? Three words: Rodeo bull riding.
