LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Despite a recent disagreement with the organization, former Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams says he plans to attend the 20th reunion honoring the 1993 Phillies.
In early May, Williams called for Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee to be fired.
Several Phillies, including manager Charlie Manuel and Roy Halladay, took exception to the comments. But Williams, who is an analyst for MLB Network, said Monday that his relationship with the organization has not soured.
"It's fine," Williams said. "I mean, my job is to analyze, so I don't have a problem in the world with them."
In the May interview on WIP-FM (94.1), Williams also said Dubee failed to correct mechanical issues with Halladay. Halladay later said the comment "really does upset me."
