More gold for Iron Man

Posted: June 21, 2013

DOLLAR DETAILS were unannounced, but it looks as if Marvel/Disney backed the Brink's truck up to Robert Downey Jr.'s house and started unloading.

The man who turned Iron Man into Spider-Man's rival for Marvel movie supremacy, has signed up for two more "Avengers" films.

Marvel announced yesterday that the actor will reprise his role as Iron Man/Tony Stark for "The Avengers 2" and "The Avengers 3," although there was no mention of "Iron Man 4."

Production on "Avengers 2" is to begin in March, with a theatrical release in May 2015.

Jeepers, Justin

Remember the old days, when Justin Bieber was just a so-so singer who made little girls swoon?

What happened?

According to Life & Style, the post- Selena Bieber has been treating a posh hotel like a sex shop.

During a recent stay in NYC, a source says that Justin called down to the front desk late at night for some X-rated items!

"He asked for more intimacy kits with condoms," said the unnamed insider, who explained that Bieber's suite already provided an intimacy kit with condoms.

A second unnamed source (a good non-news story should always have two anonymous sources) told Life & Style that Justin regularly stays at this hotel and there was nothing unusual about the request.

"He always requests condoms . . . and jelly beans!" said the source.

Whoa, it's a latex pinata!

No protection for Brand

British comedian Russell Brand (the former Mr. Katy Perry) says he has canceled Middle Eastern dates on his forthcoming tour after promoters said they couldn't guarantee his safety.

Brand had planned to take his "Messiah Complex" tour to Abu Dhabi and Lebanon.

Brand has said the tour focuses on icons including Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm X and Jesus, and examines "the importance of heroes in this age of atheistic disposability."

Brand told the BBC that he thought organizers were wary of the sensitive topic and the poster, which "does depict me looking a little bit Christ-like" and wearing corporate and religious insignia.

The tour starts June 12 in Chicago and ends in Reykjavik, Iceland, on Dec. 9.

Easiest punchline ever

Media watchdog Howard Kurtz, host of CNN's "Reliable Sources" for 15 years, said yesterday that he's jumping to Fox News Channel.

His new show will be called, "Unreliable Sources."

Oh, it's a joke.

Kurtz's new show will replace the current "Fox News Watch." He'll also appear as an on-air analyst across the network during the week and write a column for the network's website on social-media news and industry trends.

His jump comes less than two months after Kurtz was interviewed on his own show to apologize for and explain a series of mistakes he had made in a story he'd written for the Daily Beast about basketball player Jason Collins, who had announced he was gay. Kurtz said the incident, which led to Kurtz and the Daily Beast parting ways, did not play a role in his exit from CNN, that the timing of it and his contract renewal were coincidental.
