Severe thunderstorm watch posted for region

Posted: June 25, 2013

The National Weather Service has posted a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. for Southeastern Pennsylvania and most of New Jersey.

A maintenence worker at the Glen Mills School in Delaware County was taken to the hospital as a precaution when a nearby lighting strike left him feeling "tingly," officials said.

A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for thunderstorms containing hail one-inch or larger and wind gusts of up to 58 m.p.h.

Severe thunderstorms also can produce tornadoes.
