Auburn transfer chooses La Salle

Posted: June 28, 2013

LA SALLE will be one of the Atlantic 10 favorites (and perhaps the favorite) this season after its Sweet 16 run in last season's NCAA Tournament.

But Tyreek Duren, Sam Mills and Tyrone Garland will be out of eligibility after the season, so backcourt reinforcements will be needed for 2014-15.

Some of the replacements will be on the team this coming season. One more is about to sign on for the following season. Jordan Price, a 6-5 guard from Decatur, Ga., will transfer from Auburn to La Salle and have 3 years of eligibility after sitting out this season.

Price averaged 5.4 points in 15 minutes per game for an Auburn team that lost 16 of its last 17 games. Most important, he made 11 consecutive threes over three mid-December games against Grambling, Furman and Tennessee Tech. He was also 5-for-8 from three and scored a season-high 19 points against Rhode Island. He was less successful in 16 games against Southeastern Conference opponents, shooting 11-for-41 from the arc.
