State troopers have arrested an Atlantic City man and charged him with robbing a Burlington County bank on Friday, authorities said Tuesday.

According to state police, Mandel Aikens, 26, entered the Fulton Bank of New Jersey on the 1300 block of Route 38 in Hainesport and passed a note to an employee demanding money.

The robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a beige Chevrolet Impala, police said.

Bank employees provided investigators with a vehicle and license plate description. According to the state police, detectives were able to find that the car had been rented from a business in Galloway Township.

Troopers arrested Aikens when he returned the car Saturday.

He was charged with robbery and theft in the stickup and was being held at the Burlington County Jail on bail set at $50,000.
