* There are free eats at Chick-fil-A tomorrow, but your pride may pay a steep price for it. In honor of the chicken-centric chain's Cow Appreciation Day, people who wear cow attire - we're talking "head to hoof" - get a free combo meal. Cow-spotted accessories earn you a free entrée. More at cowappreciationday.com.

* Manayunk's Bisou (4161 Main St., 215-487-1230, bisouonmain.com) is expanding its BYOB concept. Tuesdays all evening, the restaurant discounts its bottles 50 percent and charges no corkage fee if you BYO. The same deal now goes from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Also new: A 200-space parking lot has opened across the street.

* Tenaya Darlington, author of Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese: A Guide to Wedges, Recipes, and Pairings (Running Press, $25), is asking cheese lovers nationwide to suggest pairings featuring a local cheese, or a recipe with local ingredients. She'll choose 48 winners, each of whom will get a copy of her book and a mention on her blog, dibruno.com/blog. Deadline is July 31.

* July specials abound at Mexican BYO Lolita (106 S. 13th St., 215-546-7100, lolitabyob.com): Buy One, Get One Margarita Pitchers on Sundays; Barbecue Night with ribs and sides on Mondays; and Taco Tuesdays, featuring house-made tortillas and fixings. At month's end, owners Valerie Safran and chef Marcie Turney will close Lolita for two months for renovations. The restaurant will reopen in the fall, with a liquor license.

* Perfect your paella with chef David Ansill on July 26 at Bar Ferdinand (1030 N. 2nd St., 215-923-1313, barferdinand.com). The outdoor class starts at 7 p.m. and includes the signature dish, plus tapas and a Starter Paella Kit. $40. Rain date is Aug. 2.
