NERLENS NOEL

Position: Center

How he got here: Picked No. 6 by New Orleans, traded to Sixers with 2014 protected first-round pick for Jrue Holiday and 2013 second-round pick (42nd overall).

Height, Weight: 6-11, 219

Age: 19

Birthdate: April 10, 1994

High school: Tilton (N.H.) High

College: Kentucky

Class: Freshman

2012-13 season: Limited to 24 games after suffering a left torn ACL on Feb. 12, but led the country in blocked shots (4.4) and topped the SEC in rebounding (9.5). Was named the SEC's Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and first-team All-SEC. He and Anthony Davis are the only Wildcats with at least 50 blocks and 50 steals in a season (106 blocks, 50 steals).

Scouting report: A shot-blocking machine who is athletic with a wingspan that rivals a condor. Has great hand-eye coordination, blocking shots with either hand, and picking up steals.

Scout speak: "His knee injury shouldn't be a concern," one NBA scout said. "Guys come back from this pretty readily. He's a game changer at the defensive end, but I don't ever see him being a 16-plus-a-night scorer. But Tyson Chandler was the second-best player on a title-winning team and he can't score either."
