Former Olney High guard Jesse Morgan seeks to play for Temple

Posted: July 27, 2013

Jesse Morgan, who transferred to Temple in May, will meet with the NCAA on Monday to determine if he is eligible to play basketball, according to CBS Sports.

The Olney High guard was dismissed from Massachusetts in April and has one year of eligibility remaining, which must be used this season.

The meeting, according to the report, will determine whether Morgan's dismissal was necessary.

In order to play, Morgan needs the NCAA to waive the one year he is required to sit out after transferring and also dismiss the fact that he did not attend classes in the spring. The NCAA requires that all athletes progress toward their degree each semester.

Morgan, a 6-foot-5 guard, sat out his freshman season because he was academically ineligible. He is nicknamed "The Takeover" and averaged 13.4 points in 14 games last season. He suffered a season-ending torn anterior cruciate ligament in January.
