Swarthmore ranks 6th in list of top colleges

Swarthmore College was ranked sixth on a list of America's Top Colleges 2013 published Wednesday by Forbes magazine.

The University of Pennsylvania was ranked 11th out of 650 colleges and universities reviewed by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, the magazine reported.

Stanford University topped the list, with Pomona College in California placing second. Princeton University came in third, followed by Yale and Columbia Universities. Harvard University was ranked eighth, one notch below the United States Military Academy at West Point.
