McNabb to retire as an Eagle

Posted: July 30, 2013

DONOVAN McNABB, who was cheered heartily when introduced to the Lincoln Financial Field crowd yesterday as part of an alumni recognition event before the first public practice of training camp, today will officially retire as an Eagle at a 10 a.m. NovaCare ceremony, the team announced.

McNabb holds virtually all franchise passing records - attempts (4,746), completions (2,801), yards (32,873) and touchdowns (216).

Eagles chairman Jeffrey Lurie will preside at today's event, at which Lurie is expected to officially announce that McNabb will be honored at the Sept. 19 home game against Kansas City and former Eagles coach Andy Reid.
