A TENNESSEE MAN was nearly duped by a distraction scam in a South Jersey hotel room Saturday, focusing his full attention on a prostitute while another woman went through his pockets, police said.

Police in Egg Harbor Township, Atlantic County, said Rudy Quintana, 41, was "employing" Saketa Wills, 19, of Norristown, early Saturday inside a room at the Clarion, about 10 miles west of Atlantic City on the Black Horse Pike, when a woman identified as her "partner," Tenasia Washington, 18, of Plainfield, Union County, tried to steal his wallet and cellphone.

"He was busy, that's all I can say," Lt. Robert Gray, a spokesman for the police department, quipped.

Nevertheless, Quintana somehow noticed the robbery and confronted the women, police said, and they both allegedly assaulted him and doused him with pepper spray.

Police responded to the hotel at 3:21 a.m. Saturday and arrested Wills and Washington, charging both with aggravated assault, robbery and conspiracy. Wills was also charged with prostitution. Both women were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility and held on $25,000 bail.

Police said it was unclear why Quintana was in the area, but he's scheduled to return for a court date. He was treated for minor injuries, charged with soliciting for prostitution and released. He couldn't be reached for comment.

Wills' Facebook page says the North Penn High School grad recently had the word "Serenity" tattooed down her rib cage and she recently posted the financial advice espoused by hip-hop star Drake in the song "Versace":

"F--- all your feelings because business is business strictly financial$$$$," she posted last month.
