Philadelphia police on Thursday were seeking those responsible for two home invasions, one in which a West Philadelphia man was beaten with a crowbar.
In the first attack, at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, two men broke into a house on the 2500 block of Bonaffon Street in the Elmwood section of Southwest Philadelphia and confronted a resident at gunpoint. They left with $8,000 and an HTC smartphone and did not injure the victim, police said.
In the violent robbery, three, maybe four, men made their way into a second-floor apartment on the 5400 block of Vine Street through a window about 1:15 a.m. Thursday. There, they beat a 44-year-old man, although it was unclear whether anything was taken.
