Rashann London's first attempt to give an oral commitment to Drexel on Thursday resulted in a voice message.

Dragons basketball coach Bruiser Flint was in a meeting.

Roman Catholic's 6-foot-2 senior guard then dialed Drexel assistant and Roman alum Bobby Jordan.

"I just told him I wanted to commit right now," London said. "And he was so happy. He was joking with me, saying I probably got him a raise."

London visited Drexel twice on unofficial visits and was surprised by how big the University City campus is. He is from Mount Airy and said staying close to home was a priority.

London is a strong on-ball defender, and uses his speed on the offensive end. He averaged 15.5 points last season for the Cahillites.

He also had interest from Towson, Fairfield, and Binghamton.

"He's real close with his family. They'd like to see him play," Roman coach Chris McNesby said. "And he's a great student, and Drexel's a great school. So he's real excited about that."
