Villanova (0-1-1 overall, 0-0-0 Big East Conference) and the University of Hartford (1-0-1, 0-0-0 America East) battled to a 1-1 men's soccer draw Tuesday at the Villanova Soccer Complex.
Both goals were scored in the first 45 minutes.
The Wildcats were stronger on defense after surrendering seven goals in the season opener Friday at No. 11-ranked New Mexico.
Hartford netted the first goal, but Villanova struck with just 53 seconds to play in the first half when senior Adetomiwa Adewole got the ball to back Willis Griffith. He directed a shot past Viltsu Tuumi to even the score.
