Politically active actress Eva Longoria ("Desperate Housewives"), a Clinton booster, was also scheduled to attend the Liberty Medal event. The Constitution Center promoted her presence, but her name had been absent from recent promotional material.
Why aren't they attending? Reps from the Constitution Center said Longoria had obligations on a film set. But she'll be in Watertown, Wis., with Michelle Obama tomorrow, according to multiple news outlets, working on the first lady's "Let's Move!" anti-obesity campaign.
They stayed mum on Bill's whereabouts, and a missive to the Clinton Foundation went unanswered.
Lisa Hillary leaves
Comcast SportsNet's Lisa Hillary
is leaving the network. The Flyers beat reporter has been in Philly since 2010 and was in CSN's D.C. bureau for three years before that.
Hillary is leaving for the sunnier environs of Anaheim, Calif., where she'll serve as a sideline reporter for the NHL's Ducks on Fox Sports West.
"It's a little bit more exposure for me," Hillary told me while browsing at Old City boutique Adresse (45 N. 2nd St.). "Even though my family is in Ottawa [on the East Coast], but at the end of the day I said, why not?"
Hillary plans to drive from Philly to Cali in her F-150 with her yellow lab, Buddy, on Sept. 20.
Other than her co-workers and Philly's walkability, Hillary said she would miss the passion of Philadelphia fans.
Hillary had no idea who would replace her.
