African American B-to-B seminar set for Saturday

City Councilman David Oh will sponsor an African American Business to Business seminar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Preparatory School, 1733 W. Girard Ave., Philadelphia.

Among the topics to be tackled will be how to sell products and services to city entities. On hand will be representatives from the city's Office of Economic Opportunity, PGW, the Department of Licenses and Inspection, the Department of Revenue, the Philadelphia Housing Authority, SEPTA, and Philadelphia International Airport.

Also planned is a panel on accessing small- resources. Scheduled to be in attendance, among others, are representatives of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Entrepreneur Works, the Office of Business Services in the city's Commerce Department, and the Urban League Entrepreneurship Center.

And a number of successful black business owners also are on tap to speak, including Mike Pearson, CEO of Union Packaging L.L.C.; William Wilson, founder of Synterra Partners, and Chester "Chet" Riddick, CEO of Alpha Enterprise Group.
