The Camden County Prosecutor's Office has identified the woman found shot to death Friday afternoon in a house in Gloucester Township as 54-year-old Kathleen Korbel.

Korbel, who had been house-sitting, was found by a friend about 5 p.m. in a home on the first block of Mayflower Drive, spokesman Jason Laughlin said. She had been shot multiple times.

Korbel lived in the Grenloch section of Washington Township, he said. Laughlin said he did not know how long she had been staying at the house.

Laughlin said police had made no arrests. He declined to describe the crime or give details of the scene.

The single-family house in which the crime occurred sits at Mayflower Drive and Johnson Road in Sicklerville. According to property records, the house is owned by Maureen L. Donnelly and Marlene Triggian. Efforts to reach the two were unsuccessful Saturday night.

Mike Kappatos, who lives next door on Mayflower Drive, told the South Jersey Times that the women who lived in the home "pretty much kept to themselves."

The killing was the second this year in Gloucester Township. Lamar Ortiz, 20, was shot to death July 15 outside his home at the Autumn Ridge apartment complex on Little Gloucester Road. Police said an argument led to the killing.
