THE COACHING career of Billy Lange has just about come full circle. The Haddon Heights, N.J., native, according to a team source, has agreed to join coach Brett Brown's 76ers coaching staff as an assistant, specializing in player development.

Lange spent the past two seasons with Jay Wright at Villanova as the associate head coach. It was his second stint on the Main Line as an assistant. His coaching career began as an assistant to his father, Bill Lange Sr., at Bishop Eustace Prep in Pennsauken, N.J. He headed the program for a season while his father was recovering from an injury. He spent two seasons under the legendary Herb Magee at Philadelphia University and a year at La Salle as an assistant before taking his first head coaching job at Division III United States Merchant Marine Academy. He then took his first job at Villanova under Wright before getting the head coaching job at Navy, where he spent seven seasons.

A 1994 graduate of Rowan University, Lange, 41, joins Lloyd Pierce, Chad Iske and Greg Foster on Brown's staff. The Sixers will have their media day on Friday before opening training camp at Saint Joseph's University on Saturday.
