Eats Beat

* Epic, Emmy-winning AMC drama "Breaking Bad" ends Sunday night, and Old Eagle Tavern (177 Markle St., 215-483-5535, oldeagletavern. com) knows attention must be paid, yo! The Manayunk bar continues its "Dinner, Beer and a Movie Night" series with a screening of the finale at 9 p.m., plus a "Bad"-inspired beer and food menu. The fifth season will air all day.

* Argue the worthiness of various pumpkin beers for a worthy cause Saturday during The Great Pumpkin Debate, a beer tasting and hayride, 6-10 p.m., at the Figure 8 Barn, in Bellevue State Park, 800 Carr Road, Wilmington, Del. It's also the 25th annual National Estuaries Day, and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary will raise a "Toast to the Coast" in support of restoring and protecting waterways. $25 a person. 800-445-4935, DelawareEstuary.org.

* It's all about beer and worthy causes in this edition of Eats Beat. Bucks County's Free Will Brewing Company has created Saison de Rose, inspired by a Belgian saison ale but with ruby grapefruit, fresh ginger and pink peppercorns, plus hibiscus flowers to give it the vivid pink color associated with October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each keg sold means a $100 donation to Penn Medicine's Rena Rowan Breast Center. A limited run of 750-milliliter bottles will be made. Find it at local pubs and bottle stores.

* Burger-of-the-month specials start in October at Village Whiskey (118 S. 20th St., 215-665-1088, villagewhiskey.com) with the VW Tailgate Burger with herb roasted pork, sharp provolone, broccoli rabe and cherry pepper aioli ($16). Pair it with Old Bay Fries and PBR in a can for $22. For November there's the VW Thanksgiving Burger with brussels sprouts and crispy bacon slaw, red onion- cranberry jam, herb aioli, havarti, stuffing ($16). Pair it with Warm Spiked Apple Cider for $26. December's feature will be the VW Patty Melt with butter toasted rye, caramelized onion, Swiss cheese ($12), which you can pair with a seasonal draft beer for $18.

* Imagine scrapple, cheesesteaks and doughnuts just like Federal Donuts - without calorie guilt. Find recipes for these and more in Lighten Up, America!, a new cookbook by Allison Fishman Task, out next month from Oxmoor House. Task teamed with Cooking Light to make lighter versions of signature recipes from all over the country.
