STU: U sure they r Italian?
DOM: Is the pope Argentinian? Their names r Como and Donato.
STU: U saying most Italians don't talk like the mamalukes?
DOM: Don't know. I hope not. Don't know about Irish or Germans or Albanians or Jews either. Negative stereotyping = bad.
STU: You don't think U.S. is postracial?
DOM: No way.
STU: What would it take?
DOM: Education? Integration? Maybe lots of intermarriage so everyone has "skin" in the game.
STU: The text messages were pretty raw.
DOM: Yeah but they shouldn't b fired.
STU: No? Y?
DOM: They were private communications.
STU: On school phones.
DOM: Yeah, but
STU: But what?
DOM: First Amendment.
STU: Shouldn't that b my line?
DOM: No one heard them until texts went public. Now the whistle blowers are catching flak. Anyway, there's good news.
DOM: You can no longer say that evil stuff out loud.
STU: It's still said. It's still felt.
DOM: Haters have been driven underground to tap out their filth silently. That's good.
STU: U r missing a point. They were EDUCATORS.
DOM: Just goes to show you.
STU: Show me what?
DOM: You don't have to be dumb to be a racist.
STU: They should b fired.
DOM: Not unless it affected their job performance.
STU: Wouldn't it HAVE to?
DOM: Not against the law to have racist views or get a hummer in the White House, if you want to talk job performance.
STU: They also sprayed women, Jews, Middle East people.
DOM: Locker room talk.
STU: U think it's no worse than locker room talk?
DOM: It is worse, but they resigned. They're gone. They're shamed.
STU: Shamed? How do u think black kids felt when they saw the texts, the N-word?
DOM: Awful, because they thought Como & Donato liked them.
STU: Did kids think that?
DOM: Yes. There's the real damage.
STU : How?
DOM: The kids may think all white people are double-talking backstabbers.
STU : They are.
DOM: How would u feel if that went public?
STU: I was kidding. I don't want to believe most white people are private bigots. That's not my America.
DOM: I don't want to believe most blacks are quiet bigots either.
STU: I was talking color prejudice.
DOM: So was Spike Lee in "School Daze." He had light-skinned blacks looking down on darker skinned. Colorism. We all have questions to answer. Chris Rock had a routine about blacks hating N-word blacks.
STU: That was comedy.
DOM: Was it?
STU: So we're not in a postracial society?
DOM: We'll be in a post-Kardashian society first. The big thing is bigots usually can't keep minorities from goals.
STU: But they still hate.
DOM: Some morons need to make others look smaller to make themselves feel bigger. Sad but true.
STU: Is that why we're friends?
DOM: Sad but true.
