THE TONE among some Eagles fans this week has been overly confident. Yes, this game starts the "winnable" part of the schedule, which continues next week at Tampa. But there are no walkovers for a 1-3 team. The Eagles can lose to anybody, if their defense and special teams play the way they did last week, or if Michael Vick and the offensive line have another day as they had against Kansas City.
Going into the season, I would have said the Giants had a better team than the Eagles. The Giants are 0-4, but it still might be easier to imagine this Eagles bunch 1-4 than to conceive of Tom Coughlin's team being 0-5. A loss Sunday pretty much ends the season for a team that has won two of the past six Super Bowls. If the Giants have a stand to make, they'll make it here.
