Daniel Desmond, 55, of Runnemede, a former chief inspector for a Cherry Hill computer parts firm, died of liver cancer on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford.

From 1988 to earlier this year, Mr. Desmond worked for inTest Corp., a designer and manufacturer of products that test devices such as semiconductor integrated circuits.

Born in Escanaba, Mich., Mr. Desmond graduated from Escanaba High School in 1977, a sister, Darleen Lemke, said.

Mr. Desmond was a computer assembly worker at Texas Instruments in Houston from 1980 to 1987, before moving to New Jersey.

Though he was not in the military, Mr. Desmond was president of the VFW Post 3324 Men's Auxiliary for six years, until 2011, his sister said.

Since 2008, he had been a member of the Polish American Citizens' Club of Camden County.

Besides his sister, he is survived by two other sisters and former wife Ellen.

A visitation was set from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the McCann-Healey Funeral Home, 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, before a 4 p.m. memorial service there.
