Harold A. Parker Jr. and his beard owned the role of Christmas-party Santa Claus.
"For maybe the last 10 years or so," Mr. Parker played the part for the Weymouth Volunteer Fire Company in Mays Landing, N.J., son Scott said.
Apart from looking the part, his son said, "he just had the ability to bring joy to the kids' faces."
On Sunday, Oct. 6, Mr. Parker, 85, a former owner of a construction equipment supplier in West Collingswood Heights, died of lung cancer at his home in Folsom, Atlantic County.
Born in Collingswood, Mr. Parker retired in 2000 as owner of Rush & Parker Inc., which he and his father, Harold A. Sr., founded in 1965. It is now a subsidiary of RPI Construction Equipment.
