Sarah Furey was involved in four of Bishop Eustace's six goals Tuesday as the Crusaders took down Camden Catholic for the second time this year in field hockey and the first time on its home field in three years, 6-2.

"It's been a while since we beat them on our home turf," said Furey, a senior captain. "It's really great to win under the lights in the last regular-season game we'll play against them."

The game was up for grabs until Eustace pulled away with a couple of minutes remaining. Junior Eileen Dzwill and Furey led the way with two goals each. Camden Catholic senior captain Tara Vittese scored two spectacular goals in a losing effort.

Bishop Eustace improved to 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the Olympic Conference. Camden Catholic dropped to 7-3 and 4-2.

Vittese got the Irish on the board first, weaving through the defense and scoring a backhanded goal almost three minutes into the game.

About two minutes later, with 25 minutes, 16 seconds remaining in the half, a corner pass was relayed to Furey. Furey fed the ball to Dzwill, who put the ball into the back of the goal to even the score.

The score remained even until late in the first half when Furey scored her first goal on a slap shot from just outside the circle with 2:48 left.

That momentum carried into the second half for Furey, who scored again on a similar shot a little less than four minutes into the half to make it a two-goal lead.

"Sarah always comes to play. She's an incredible playmaker," Eustace coach Danielle Senior said. "She plays well on the ball, off the ball, and creates tremendous opportunities."

Vittese answered back about 20 seconds later, and the Irish kept the game close for a while. But Eustace pulled away late with a couple of goals in the final two minutes to secure the victory.

This might be the last time these teams play this season, but that doesn't mean they won't see each other in the Non-Public South playoffs.

"It's always kind of a curse to have to beat a team three times in one season," Furey said. "This team has a lot of heart, and if we see them again, we'll be ready to go."
