Lavoy Allen misses 76ers practice

Sixers coach Brett Brown said he heard Lavoy Allen had overslept. Rookie guard Khalif Wyatt heard Allen was sick.

Either way, Allen missed Saturday morning's open practice at the Palestra, and Brown said he will take care of it.

"It's all part of the culture, the culture we're trying to get right," Brown said. "We will deal with him - I will deal with him. What else can you say?"

On Friday, Twitter posts reported, Allen was at Temple basketball's Cherry and White night at the Liacouras Center. Wyatt, a former Owls guard, was also at the Liacouras Center.

A picture posted later on Instagram showed Allen, a former Temple center, at Club Aura in Northern Liberties. An event there, billed as a kickoff to Temple's homecoming weekend, was supposed to be hosted by Wyatt and model Yaris Sanchez. Sanchez was in the photo with Allen and rapper Pooda Dappa. Wyatt said he did not go and was not with Allen on Friday.

"Practice went on," Wyatt said. "Me and Lavoy are a big part of the team, big part of what we're trying to do. Missed him a little bit today."

Allen is in the last year of the two-year contract he signed after the Sixers' 2012 playoff run. He is slated to make $3.06 million this season. He is still nursing a left knee injury and said on Friday that he was not yet 100 percent.

The Sixers will play their sixth preseason game on Monday at Cleveland.
