Vick 'probable' for Giants game

Posted: October 27, 2013

THE EAGLES listed quarterback Michael Vick as "probable" for tomorrow's game against the Giants, which presumably means he is starting, as the Birds try to end a nine-game home losing streak.

Vick had said Thursday he wanted to run hard yesterday to make sure his left hamstring could stand the strain. Reporters are not allowed at NovaCare on Fridays, but the run presumably went well. He suffered the injury in the previous game against the Giants, Oct. 7.

As expected, the team listed quarterback Nick Foles as "out." Foles hasn't practiced since suffering a concussion Sunday against Dallas. Also out is linebacker and key special-teams player Jake Knott (hamstring). Emmanuel Acho, signed from the Giants' practice squad this week, is scheduled to take Knott's place.

Safety Patrick Chung (shoulder) and defensive end Cedric Thornton (knee) were listed as "questionable," which officially means they have a 50-50 chance of playing.

The Giants, meanwhile, listed running back Brandon Jacobs (hamstring), defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (knee) and corner Jayron Hosley (hamstring) as doubtful.

Also, the Eagles announced that former wide receiver Harold Carmichael will be honored at halftime and will serve as an honorary captain. Carmichael is now the Eagles' director of player programs.
