2 dead, 2 injured in 3 Phila. shootings

Two men were killed and two seriously injured in three unrelated shootings Saturday night and Sunday morning in North Philadelphia, police said.

In the first assault, a 32-year-old man was shot once in the chest in a house on the 1700 block of North 27th Street about 11:50 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead about an hour later at Temple University Hospital, police said. His identity had not been released.

In the second shooting, a 28-year-old man was sitting in the driver's seat of a 2006 Dodge Magnum about 1:55 a.m. Sunday on the 200 block of West Master Street when he was shot twice in the head. A 43-year-old male passenger was wounded, police said.

The shootings occurred outside the Liquid Room Restaurant & Bar, where the victims reportedly had been celebrating a friend's birthday. The driver of the Dodge was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:12 a.m., police said. His identity also had not been released.

The passenger was in critical condition at Hahnemann University Hospital with gunshot wounds to his arms, right thigh, and chest, police said.

In the third shooting, a 39-year-old man was shot four times and critically wounded about 10:50 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of West Ruscombe Street in Olney, police said. He was in critical condition at Einstein Medical Center, police said.

They reported no arrests and gave no motives for the shootings.
