An East Fallowfield Township man bound and choked his girlfriend before committing suicide early Sunday after she told him to move out of their home, according to the district attorney's office.
The 52-year-old man, whose name has not been released, bound his 64-year-old girlfriend and choked her until she lost consciousness, according to Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan. When she woke up, he shot himself, Hogan said.
The woman called 911 just after 12:30 a.m., according to a press release. Hogan said she was taken to Paoli Hospital and was still being treated there Monday morning. Hogan said the incident occurred after the woman gave her boyfriend a civil eviction notice she had received from a judge. He declined to comment on whether the couple had a history of domestic violence.
