YESTERDAY, Fox 29 news anchor Kerry Barrett shared her painful journey through four miscarriages with me before her evening news report.

Turns out, she had some better news to share after the broadcast. Barrett is expecting baby No. 2 with husband John, a New Jersey Air National Guardsman. The new bundle of joy will join Avery, 3.

"We don't know the gender. . . . We are simply happy to have a healthy baby! We obviously didn't get here the way we expected to, but we are here. Finally. And couldn't be happier. Thank you for all your support. It means the world to us," Barrett told me via email.

Lots of newsladies will have baby bumps in the coming months, including 6ABC's Jamie Apody, Alicia Vitarelli and Nydia Han.

AC on screen

Hunter Parrish, who played the eldest son of suburban drug kingpin Nancy Botwin ( Mary-Louise Parker, see below for more Parker) on Showtime's long-running comedy "Weeds," has been hanging in Atlantic City lately with Tim Daly (of "Wings" fame) and Ashley Hinshaw (of the must-see "Chronicle") on the set of the movie "Hell of a View."

Fresh-faced Parrish plays a NYC chef whose parents' AC restaurant is destroyed by Superstorm Sandy.

The movie is directed by Ben Hickernell, who is known for putting our region on the big screen, most recently in "Backwards," starring James Van Der Beek. It's produced by Kristin Fairweather, who brought Lili Taylor and Amy Madigan to the area for the environmentally focused "Future Weather."

I heard that Parrish has been frequenting the Continental AC (The Pier Shops at Caesars, One Atlantic Ocean, Atlantic City) and that AC residents love the dude.

* Speaking of movie sets, tipsters are telling me that the Richard Gere/ Dakota Fanning-starring "Franny" has been filming around Center City lately, including stops at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and around 20th and Sansom streets. Shoot me an email if you catch the stars in action!

Broadway baby

Langhorne's own Evan Jonigkeit had no intention of leaving Philadelphia after graduating from Temple.

"The minute I left Philadelphia, I was looking behind me wondering if I made the wrong decision," Jonigkeit told me.

Good thing he did. The 30-year-old actor, who worked with important Philly theater companies like Arden, the Wilma and Pig Iron, is starring in Broadway's "The Snow Geese," alongside the aforementioned Parker, as Duncan, who is about to be deployed to fight in World War I. The show, at the Manhattan Theatre Club, runs through Dec. 15.

In addition, Jonigkeit told me that he has roles in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," starring Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, and the upcoming season of HBO's "Girls." (Word is, Jonigkeit is dating "Girls" star Zosia Mamet, daughter of playwright David Mamet. That's got to be a tough meet-the-parents occasion.) "I've been sworn to secrecy on parts. I'm very excited about all of it," he told me.
