WITH BOTH Thanksgiving and Hanukkah next week, people who are dating someone who has kids would do well to at least consider following the example set by football superstar Deion Sanders, who is dating Tracey Edmonds, ex-wife of Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.

According to Babyface, Sanders did something that was "the classiest thing in the world" when instead of just setting about building a relationship with the Edmonds' two sons, Sanders reached out to their father first.

"I've talked to Tracey about her relationships, who she might be dating," Babyface explained to Oprah Winfrey in an interview that airs Sunday on OWN's "Oprah's Next Chapter."

"I've given her my opinion on certain things through the past, and then she told me she was dating Deion. And I knew he was Mr. Primetime. He seems like a nice guy," Edmonds added. "Well, he became a classy guy when he called me and said he didn't want to meet my children until he sat down and had lunch or breakfast with me, so he knew me before he met my children."

Winfrey's and my response are the same - "That's amazing."

Experience must be an excellent teacher. Sanders has full custody of three children he had with his second wife. He has two more from a first marriage. Babyface and Tracey divorced in 2005.

Don't follow Gabrielle Union's example

Speaking of Thanksgiving, actress Gabrielle Union isn't exactly intent on keeping things low fat.

"I'm usually in charge of the collard greens and candied yams," Union told Essence magazine.

She puts pork in them instead of using smoked turkey, which nutrition experts have been advising soul food lovers for years.

"I'm from Omaha, Nebraska," Union said. "People swear to God a turkey leg is the same as a ham hock. No it's not."

True, but there's less fat in a turkey leg.

Kardashian denies post-baby surgery

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is fighting a report by Life & Style magazine that claims she underwent plastic surgery to get her body back after giving birth over the summer. Previously, she's credited the Atkins diet and exercise for her weight loss.

"I am very frustrated today seeing reports that I got surgery to lose my baby weight! This is FALSE," Kardashian reportedly tweeted Wednesday. "I worked so hard to train myself to eat right & healthy, I work out so hard & this was such a challenge for me but I did it!!! I'm so proud of my accomplishment & NO ONE will take this away from me with fake reports! Say what u want about me but I work hard & am the most disciplined person u will ever meet!"

Life & Style claims the 33-year-old bride-to-be has done everything from getting fillers to clearing up stretch marks to having an expensive ultrasound procedure on her stomach.

If it's true, Kardashian should just come clean about it already. It wouldn't take anything away from her, and she'd be doing a heckuva service to all the new moms of America who knock themselves for not snapping back as fast as she did.

Hugh Jackman's cancer scare

The ever so hunky Hugh Jackman is sporting a big bandage on his nose.

Turns out the "Wolverine" star was treated for skin cancer. He posted the following on Instagram: " Deb (Lee Furness) said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basal cell carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!"

Rodney King's home sold

How do you have a splash party in a pool where a man died? I ask because the house where Rodney King lived before drowning in a backyard pool in 2012 was sold last month.

TMZ reports that the infamous Los Angeles beating victim purchased the 2,084-square-foot home in 2001. It sold for $260,000 - despite the fact that King was found at the bottom of it.

Not to be morbid, but that would be hard for a lot of homeowners to get over. How do you not think about what happened to King every time you go in for a swim?
