Imhotep Charter boys' basketball coach Andre Noble made great time as he avoided Saturday afternoon's traffic and arrived at Lower Merion in 70 minutes.

Also the school's athletic director, Noble stayed for the end of the Panthers' PIAA semifinal football win just outside Reading before heading to his evening game with the Aces.

And his good fortune continued as his basketball team turned back Lower Merion's late rally to win, 58-54. Senior Jakwan Jones scored eight of his 17 points in the fourth quarter. Basil Thompson added 17 points and Sean Lloyd scored 13.

"It's a great day for Imhotep," Noble said.

Scholastic Play-By-Play Tipoff. First-year Archbishop Wood coach John Mosco won his first game with a 71-42 victory over visiting Glasgow (Del.). Luke Connaghan had 10 rebounds, Eric Walsh had seven rebounds and Tommy Funk had four assists.

Also at Wood, Sammy Foreman scored a team-high 24 points, dished out four assists and grabbed four rebounds to lead Martin Luther King past William Tennent, 78-48. Tyheem Harmon had nine assists and Chase Rogers had nine rebounds.

Terry Larrier scored 26 points and Raheem Hall added 12 points to pace Phelps past Haverford School, 69-67, at Coatesville.

Also at Coatesville, Cameron Jones' 26 points and Mekhi Bryant's 20 points led Pennsbury past West Chester Rustin, 67-54.

Media Shootout. Chichester's Shah Ahmed hit a three with 11 seconds left and Jamai Womack grabbed the rebound at the buzzer to seal the host team's 56-55 win over Strath Haven.

Radnor Tournament. Episcopal Academy relied on Mike Jolaoso's 21 points and Connor Martin's 14 to hold off host Radnor, 55-52, in the final.
