Kelly said he doesn't believe in the supposed SI cover jinx. Foles said he has heard more about the jinx associated with the cover of the Madden video game than with Sports Illustrated, but he also does not believe in it.
"A lot of times something happens and you start getting complacent and start thinking you've arrived, and every day I come to work and I work on the stuff I need to do better," Foles said. "Because I do have a lot of flaws in my game that I understand, so I've got to make those better every day."
Running backs Adrian Peterson (foot) and Toby Gerhart (hamstring) were among six Vikings players who did not practice Wednesday. The others were tight end John Carlson (concussion), guard Brandon Fusco (knee), and cornerbacks Xavier Rhodes (ankle) and Josh Robinson (chest).
Eagles linebacker Najee Goode missed practice with a hamstring injury. Safety Earl Wolff (knee) was limited.
Playing in the snow
Vikings defensive end Jared Allen reflected with Philadelphia-area reporters on the last time the Vikings played the Eagles - a snow-delayed, 24-14 Minnesota win in 2010.
He joked that the Eagles could not play in the snow then. When he watched film of the Eagles' win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, he saw a snow-covered field.
"All the sudden now you guys can play in a blizzard, huh?" Allen said with a laugh. "That must be the difference between Andy [Reid] and Chip Kelly."
