NEWTOWN Police are searching for a suspect who made off from a Bucks County bank Monday in a Volkswagen Beetle with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to the FBI, a man weaing a red zip-up sweatshirt and a dark green winter hat entered the Monument Bank branch around 1:55 p.m. and handed a threatening note to a teller demanding money.

The teller then handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled in his car. He was last seen heading west on Richboro-Newtown Road.

The suspect, described as about 30 years old and 6-foot-2, was caught on surveillance tape at the counter before leaving.
