Peter L. Vico, 61, of Cherry Hill, an adjunct professor of accounting since the early 1990s at Camden County College, died of cardiorespiratory failure on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Virtua Voorhees hospital.

Born in the Jamaica section of New York City, Mr. Vico graduated from Cherry Hill High School East in 1970 and earned bachelor's and master's degrees in finance and accounting from Drexel University.

After working for an accounting firm, he was an auditor for what was then the New Jersey Division of Hospitals and Nursing Homes from the early to the mid-1980s, a brother, Leonard, said.

Mr. Vico then became an adjunct professor of accounting at Lincoln University in Chester County, teaching from 1984 to 1989.

He taught accounting courses at Atlantic County College in the 1990s and at Burlington County College into the 2000s, while occasionally teaching night courses at Strayer University in Philadelphia until five years ago, his brother said.

Mr. Vico was a volunteer firefighter in Bellmawr in the 1980s.

Besides his brother, Mr. Vico is survived by his mother, Sophie, brother Anthony, and companion Rose.

A viewing was set from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Healey Funeral Home, 1816 Berlin Rd., Cherry Hill, before a funeral service there at 10 a.m. Thursday.
