Delco runaways found safe

Two Collingdale runaways and a 3-year-old sister of one of them have been found safe, according to police.

Danielle Natale, 15, returned home about 11 p.m. Wednesday night, police said.

Monae Onuffer, 3, and her 16-year-old sister Nicole later were located at a home in the 5200 block of Westminster Avenue in Philadelphia.

The two girls were taken into protective custody by Philadelphia Police, transferred to Collingdale police, and were turned over to Delaware County Children and Youth Services for placement.

The girls left home Tuesday as CYS social workers were slated to take Onuffer and Sporish from their mother's home, police said.

Natale told police that a man they knew named "Steve" had picked up the trio in Sharon Hill and drove them to somewhere in New Jersey. After he became aware of media reports about the missing trio, he abandoned them, police said. But police said they have not been able to confirm that report.

Police do not know how Onuffer and Sporish made their way to Philadelphia.

Anyone with information or the possible identity of "Steve" is asked to contact the Collingdale Police Department at 610-586-0502.
