Zac Rinaldo scored his first goal of the season Wednesday in the Flyers' 3-1 win over Montreal, but the feisty winger also suffered a left high-ankle sprain. He will miss about six weeks, the club announced Thursday.
Rinaldo, who has been seeing time on the penalty-killing unit lately, notched the first game-winning goal of his career on Wednesday.
General manager Paul Holmgren said the injury did not occur during Rinaldo's second-period fight with Montreal's Brandon Prust.
The Flyers, who are also without winger Matt Read (concussion), said they would call up a player from the Phantoms, probably on Friday. Tye McGinn is a possibility.
