Roman Catholic senior commits to Pitt

Roman Catholic senior defensive end Hezekiah Trahan orally committed to Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder, who doubled as a tight end for the Cahillites, pledged to the Panthers on an official visit to the school.

"What really stood out to me was the head coach [Paul Chryst] and the way he leads his program," Trahan said. "And I like the other recruits they've brought in. I think the team has a bright future."

Trahan also had scholarship offers from Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, and Massachusetts.

"I think once he zeroed in on Pittsburgh, he had blinders on," Roman coach Joe McCourt said.
