Sat. Pa. girls and boys: Carroll pulls one out

Cara Santoleri scored her only points on a putback with two seconds left to force overtime, and Lexi Stover tallied all eight of Archbishop Carroll's points in the extra session Saturday, sending the Patriots to a 52-48 victory over rival Cardinal O'Hara in Catholic League girls' basketball.

Stover, a junior, scored 17 of her game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. In the OT, she hit two field goals and went 4 for 4 from the foul line.

Rachel Guy led visiting O'Hara with 15 points.

Central League. Katie Melvin collected 20 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals in host Harriton's 48-33 victory over Springfield. Rebecca Bennett topped the Cougars with 17 points.

Myonie Williamson scored 22 points in Radnor's 59-31 win at Lower Merion.

Catholic Academies. Marissa Sylvester poured in 21 points - including four three-pointers and a 7-for-10 showing from the foul line - for Nazareth Academy in a 52-40 win at Merion Mercy.

Alex Louin scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds to help Mount St. Joseph beat Gwynedd-Mercy, 38-25, at La Salle.

Jackie Carlin finished a rebound short of a double-double, with 13 points and nine boards, as Villa Maria earned a home win against Villa Joseph Marie, 63-30.

Suburban One Continental. Sparked by Allison Gallagher's 22 points and Devon Boehm's 19, Souderton won at home over Hatboro-Horsham, 71-47. Cassidy Quattro scored 18 for the Hatters.

Ches-Mont American. Rachel Parker scored 11 points to guide Bishop Shanahan to a 40-35 win at Unionville.

Nonleague. Asia Baker and Alynna Williams each had 18 points as Plymouth Whitemarsh downed visiting Mastery Charter North, 60-47.

Ashley Jones scored 23 points to lead Cheltenham to a 66-26 win against visiting Simon Gratz.

Sophomore Naomi Jimenez scored a career-high 38 points for Westtown in a 67-31 victory against visiting Wilmington Friends. Jimenez also had 12 rebounds and five steals.

Boys' Basketball

Senior Mahir Johnson scored 22 of his career-high 36 points in the fourth quarter, helping Chester rally from a 17-point deficit to a 78-72 win against Capital Christian (Md.) in the Capital Hoops Classic at Coolidge in Washington.

Johnson scored 11 straight points for Chester at one point.

Tyrell Sturdivant scored 17 points and had 17 rebounds and four blocks for the Clippers, who finished the game on a 10-0 run over the last 53 seconds and outscored Capital Christian, 39-13, in the fourth quarter.

Public League A. Sean Lloyd scored eight of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to help Imhotep Charter hang on to a 58-55 win against Math, Civics and Sciences at Community College of Philadelphia.

Lou Myers, a Norfolk State recruit who finished with 11 points, missed a three with seven seconds left that would have tied the game.

Central. Justin McFadden scored 16 points and JaQuan Johnson added 15 in Lower Merion's 61-54 win at Radnor.

Mid-Atlantic Prep. Hill School's Matt Foltz grabbed two crucial offensive rebounds in overtime. The second he kicked out to Bryce Allen, who knocked down a game-winning three with 30 seconds left in Hill School's 58-56 win against Blair Academy.

Pennsylvania-New York Challenge. Matt Alden hit the front end of a one-and-one with seven seconds left to provide the difference in William Tennent's 59-58 win against Telecommunications (N.Y.) at Council Rock South. Alden finished with 27 points and eight rebounds.

Spencer Tinkel netted 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, as New Hope-Solebury held on for a 64-56 win against Washington Irving (N.Y.).

Ches-Mont American. Dylan Dunn (21) and Musty Mahmud (20) combined for 41 points in Oxford's 78-75 win at Octorara.

Ches-Mont League. Jackson Hyland and Vaughn Jenkins each had 11 points to lead Kennett to a 35-32 win against visiting West Chester Henderson.

Friends Schools. Vince Jackson knocked down six threes en route to 23 points in Academy of the New Church's 63-46 home win against Germantown Friends. Carnell Harley chipped in 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 5 blocks for the Lions.

Public League C. Jihaad Fluellen scored 32 and Leron Epps added 22 for Robeson, which beat visiting Mastery Charter North, 74-67.

Nonleague. Jahmir Taylor posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds as Martin Luther King picked up a 60-45 win at Friends' Central. Taylor also blocked five shots.

Sean O'Brien packed the box score with 24 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, and 7 steals for Penn Charter, which earned a 58-41 home win against Freire Charter. After his performance Saturday, O'Brien is 22 points from 1,000 in his career.

After Pennsauken's Zaire Davis forced overtime with a late three, Quadie Truesdale of Frankford ensured his team's 73-66 win by scoring five of his 19 points in overtime.

Mikal Bridges went for 21 points to help Great Valley trump Harrisburg, 71-57, at Reading.

Tyquaan Bardlavens scored 12 of his 13 points in the second half to help West Philadelphia seal a 64-57 win against Hughesville at Williamsport.

Frank Sobolewski scored five points in overtime, including a go-ahead three with 20 seconds left, to lift Jenkintown to a 59-56 win at Valley Forge Military.

Jared Armstrong hit 11 of his 12 free throws, including 7 of 8 in the final quarter, to help Christopher Dock pick up a 43-38 home win against Devon Prep. Armstrong finished with 22 points.

Derrick Woods led Pennsbury with 17 points in a 67-49 home win against Central Bucks South.
