Deliveryman critically wounded in Oxford Circle

Posted: January 30, 2014

A man delivering Chinese food was in critical condition Tuesday night after being lured to a vacant property and shot during a robbery in the city's Oxford Circle section, police said.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., police were called to Kindred and Robbins Streets for a reported shooting and found the victim in the 6200 block of Kindred, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

The man, described as white and in his late 40s or 50s, had been shot in the left side of his chest, possibly with a shotgun, Small said.

Second District officers rushed the victim, who worked for Panda Chinese Restaurant on Bustleton Avenue, to Einstein Medical Center.

The victim had trouble speaking English, but police determined that "it appeared he got lured to deliver food to a vacant property," Small said.

Three males took the victim's money, and one shot him, Small said.

Police found the Chinese food at the vacant house and the victim's car nearby.
