An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect who allegedly made off with $28,000 in gold jewelry during a Montgomery County pawn shop robbery in May.

Police have made several attempts to take Ja'Kwan Emarcus Gardner, 22, into custody. His last known address was in the 5900 block of North 4th Street in Philadelphia.

The robbery was recorded on surveillance tape and investigators were able to identify Gardner as the suspect. Police said Gardner legally purchased a shotgun the month before the heist.

Gardner has been charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats and other related crime.

According to police on the day of the robbery, Gardner allegedly handed the owner of the Lansdale Pawn Shop a note demanding cash and gold. He kept his hand inside a long duffel bag pointed at the pawn shop owner who saw the barrel of a weapon. The owner turned over $600 in cash and the jewelry.

The owner told police that several days earlier, Gardner and another unidentified person came to the shop, on the 200 block of N. Broad Street in Lansdale Borough. That day, Gardner looked at the specific case of jewelry he would later order the owner to empty on the day of the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lansdale Police at 215-368-1801.
