PHILLIES MINOR league pitcher Christopher O'Hare will serve a 50-game suspension for violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, the office of the commissioner of baseball announced yesterday.

O'Hare had a second positive test for a "drug of abuse," according to the press release.

O'Hare, 23, was selected by the Phillies with their 23rd-round pick in the 2013 draft. O'Hare, a lefthander, went 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA in five appearances with Low A Lakewood, Class A Clearwater and the Gulf Coast Phillies.

A native of Massachusetts, O'Hare spent his first 3 years of college at Yale before transferring to Fisher College in Boston for his senior year.
