HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Frantz Massenat scored a career-high 32 points to lead Drexel over Hofstra, 77-74, on Wednesday.

Drexel (11-9, 3-4 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 47 percent from the floor. Massenat was 6 of 9 on three-pointers and had nine assists. Chris Fouch added 19 points, including four treys.

"We needed every bit of what Frantz gave us," Drexel coach Bruiser Flint said. "He played an incredible game for us tonight."

Massenat had no turnovers.

Zeke Upshaw led Hofstra (7-15, 3-4) with 27 points.

Drexel made its first four shots of the game, including treys by Massenat and Fouch, to go up early at 11-2 and maintained its cushion to lead by eight at the half at 40-32. Massenat had 17 points in the first half.

Hofstra took the lead on a Robinson trey at 50-47 with 13 minutes, 37 seconds left, and the lead was traded four times - with four ties - down the stretch. With the game tied at 66, Massenat and Kazembe Abif made layups on consecutive possessions to go up four with 1:34 left.

"We got some turnovers when we trapped, which led to some easy buckets, and that got us back in control of the game," Flint said.

Drexel missed four free throws in the final 30 seconds, and Upshaw's desperation three at the final buzzer came up short.
