CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Ivy League-leading Harvard was too much for the Penn Quakers to handle Saturday night, as the Crimson rolled to an 80-50 win at Lavietes Pavilion.
Harvard (17-3, 4-0) remained undefeated in conference play, while the loss dropped Penn to 1-2 in the Ivy League standings and 4-13 overall.
The game was tight through the first 10-plus minutes, with Penn holding a slim lead before a two-handed dunk by Harvard's Kyle Casey put the Crimson ahead, 19-18.
That slam opened the floodgates, as Harvard went on to score 25 of the next 30 points to take a 44-23 lead into halftime. Senior guard Laurent Rivard, who finished with a game-high 22 points and five rebounds, powered the run, sinking a pair of three-pointers and converting all three free throws after being fouled while attempting another.
