ON SUNDAY, the Department of Homeland Security tweeted that it was proud to partner with the NFL to ensure safety "before, during and after" the Super Bowl.
Someone obviously dropped the ball.
While Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith was holding his postgame news conference, a man grabbed the microphone and said that 9/11 was "perpetrated by people in our own government."
How, one wonders, did he get past security and to within inches of the Super Bowl MVP?
A.J. Perez, of NJ.com, tracked down the man, Matthew Mills, a 30-year-old independent journalist from Brooklyn. Mills did not have a Super Bowl crendential. What he did have was a badge from a music festival he once covered.
