Sat. Pa. wrestling: GA, Westtown earn league titles

Germantown Academy and Westtown captured their 10th straight league wrestling titles on Saturday afternoon.

GA won the Inter-Ac League with a 55-18 triumph over visiting Haverford School.

Westtown clinched the Friends Schools League title by defeating visiting Friends' Central, 54-18.

For Germantown Academy:

Brian Jamison scored a first-period pin at 106 pounds to open the match. Trevor Shirakawa followed with a second-period pin at 113. Brady Riley scored a fall at 138, and Myles Anthony pinned his opponent at 170.

For Westtown:

Habeeb Onitiri nailed a 2:59 pin at 145 in the first match, and the Quakers won the first five weight classes.

Jake Chien added a decision at 152, and Andrew Raymond (160), Clay McKee (170), and Ethan Fye (182) scored falls.

Cougar Duals. Nick Lattanze earned a fall at 106 pounds and Frank Satriale added a major decision at 113 to seal Malvern Prep's 35-31 win over Twin Valley at Martin Luther King.

Michael Keenan won a decision at 132 and Dan McIntyre added a 16-second fall at 195 to lead Archbishop Ryan past Roman Catholic, 51-30.

Interboro Duals. Coatesville's Zach Dellicompagni recorded two pins and a major decision as the Red Raiders stormed to three wins at Interboro.

The 160-pounder earned a 10-1 major decision in Coatesville's 37-30 win over Exeter. Colin McBride clinched the bout in the final weight class with a 6-0 decision at 120.

Dellicompagni, a junior, added a 1:39 fall in Coatesville's 66-15 victory over Bonner-Prendergast. Wesley McGuire added a 34-second pin at 182.

And Dellicompagni pinned in 1:21 to lead Coatesville past Lower Merion, 59-7.

Also at Interboro, Zach Hain pinned at 132 and Cole Sexton added a fall at 106 to lead Abington over Octorara, 48-21.

Battle for the Border Cup. With his team trailing by three points entering the last match, Chris Fleming (138) pinned his opponent in 3:31 to hand host Upper Moreland a 40-37 victory over Hatboro-Horsham.

PIAA Class AAA. Boyertown and Spring-Ford dropped their third-round consolation matches in the state duals tournament at the Giant Center in Hershey.

Jordan Wood (220), Jordan Wertz (285), and Jakob Campbell earned consecutive wins to give Boyertown an early lead before the Bears lost to Parkland, 33-21.

Frankie Krauss (160) and Taylor Westlake (170) scored back-to-back decisions late in the match, but it was not enough as Spring-Ford fell to Cumberland Valley, 36-21.
