CAMDEN A man was shot multiple times in the driver's seat of a car Wednesday night in Camden's fourth homicide of the year.

Shamarey Davis, 26, of Camden, was found dead in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala on the 1300 block of Lakeshore Drive in the city's Morgan Village neighborhood. Police said he was shot around 9:30 p.m.

Davis' death came eight days after Royon Price, 19, was shot in a house in the 200 block of Eutaw Street. Police said he did not live there. A 30-year-old woman was also shot.

On Jan. 2, Tristan Fulton, 39, was shot in the 1600 block of Louis Street. Camden's gunfire-detection system drew police to the scene.

On Jan. 19, police said, Confessor Santiago, 45, was beaten to death in the 2100 block of Sewell Street. He died 10 days later at Capital Health Systems in Trenton.

Rasheen Kelly, 32, was charged with murder in that case. He was arraigned Feb. 6 with several of Santiago's family members, who wore hoodies with images of Santiago's smiling face, in attendance.

One of Santiago's relatives stormed out of the courtroom and yelled in the hallway after Kelly appeared before the judge.

Authorities said Kelly beat Santiago on the ground before picking him up and slamming him into a curb.

Kelly's bail was set at $1 million cash.

Last year, 57 people were killed in Camden, and there had also been four homicides by this time.

In 2012, the city had a record 67 homicides.
