Webster didn't mind. She wanted to stay inside and prepare mentally.
The studious behavior worked for Webster and the 22d-seeded Patriots, as they upset the 11th-seeded Rams, 49-36, Saturday.
Senior guard Karoline White studied the game plan on her day off as well, shrugging at the prospect of missing fun in the snow.
While the inclement weather and numerous school closings might have meant less on-court practice time last week for both the Patriots (15-7) and the Rams (18-5), it sure didn't show for C.B. East.
After just an eight-point lead at halftime, the Patriots - with an all-senior starting five - ran away with it in the third quarter, behind some tough defense and a balanced attack.
"Being that we are five seniors, it brings a sense of urgency," guard Katelyn Miller said. "We don't want to stop. We want to go as far as we can."
The Patriots were in control for the duration of the contest, in part because Harriton was without one of its best offensive players, senior Katie Melvin, who had suffered a concussion in the Central League playoffs.
Without Melvin in the lineup, the Patriots stifled the Rams' offense.
C.B. East will head to Upper Dublin on Wednesday to face the sixth-seeded Cardinals in the second round. That will be a rematch of the regular-season finale, a 29-24 East victory.
Until then, it'll be back to the books for Webster, White, and the rest of the Patriots.
