Once again, there's talk that the 76ers could be the next destination for Houston Rockets center Omer Asik.

CBSSports.com reported Tuesday that the Sixers could be a landing spot for the disgruntled player. Reports in December said that Asik might be traded for Sixers power forward Thaddeus Young.

The Sixers are $11 million under the salary cap and have an open roster spot. CBSSports.com points out that the team could acquire Asik's $8.4 million contract without having to send a player to Houston in return.

As in December, however, the Rockets reportedly want a first-round pick in exchange for the 7-foot, 255-pounder. The Sixers are shopping Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes, and Young leading up to Thursday's 3 p.m. trade deadline. The franchise wants to gain future compensation.

The Sixers are believed to be the most active team in trade talks, having had discussions with all 29 other NBA franchises.

"I would like to stay," Young said. "But if they see fit to trade me, I have to pack my things, get to the next city and be ready. But right now, whatever happens, happens."

Hawes is taking a similar approach.

"I think [I'll] just play it out, see how it goes," the center said. "One way or another, part of being a professional is being ready and seeing where the road takes you."

The newest Sixer. Kevin Grow, who signed a ceremonial two-day contract with the Sixers on Monday, was the last player introduced during pregame introductions against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Bensalem High School senior and manager for the school's boys' basketball team, who has Down syndrome, was given a locker, a uniform, warm-ups, and sneakers before the game. He was also introduced during the second quarter and received a standing ovation.
