Lancaster County educator to head Cardinal O'Hara

Posted: March 16, 2014

SPRINGFIELD (Delco) A Catholic educator from Lancaster County will become the next president of Cardinal O'Hara High School, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced Friday.

Thomas Fertal is to begin the job in June, marking a change in leadership as the Delaware County high school also searches for a new principal.

Fertal, 46, now principal of Lancaster Catholic High School, will replace William McCusker, who has led the school since 2001 and announced this academic year that he planned to retire.

O'Hara is also searching for a principal; Marie Rogai was fired from the position in November. Last month, Rogai filed a lawsuit against the archdiocese over her sudden dismissal.
